Proxima Nova Arabic

Proxima Nova Arabic (2024) was designed by Khajag Apelian and Wael Morcos to complement my Proxima Nova. Using a sculptural approach, a balance was reached between the calligraphic and geometric, giving graphic designers and typographers an Arabic script with the look and utility of a modern sans serif excellent for print and screen use. Available in eight weights — from Thin to Black — this growing family of typefaces is set to become even more popular worldwide.

  • 8 weights: Thin, Light, Regular, Medium, Semibold, Bold, Extrabold, and Black.
  • Matching small caps for all weights.*
  • Case-sensitive forms for all-caps settings.*
  • Lining and old style figures (proportional and tabular).*
  • Discretionary ligatures.
  • Full “f” ligature set (ff, fi, fl, ffi, ffl, etc.).*
  • Alternate characters (a, l, y, G, slashed zero, and seriffed 1).*
  • Arabic rial, and percent symbols.
  • Automatic arbitrary fractions.*
  • Automatic ordinals.*
  • Romanization of Arabic character set.
  • Extended language support for Arabic, most Latin-based Western and Central European languages. Also includes the capital German sharp S.
  • *Requires an application or operating system with support for OpenType advanced typography, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher, or QuarkXPress. Check your application’s user guide. OpenType advanced typography is also supported by most modern web browsers through the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
